Following a little rain π§ overnight Saturday, Sunday at Callaway Kite Flight, Callaway, Nebraska was bright and windy! βοΈ The temperature was just under 90Β°, and we still had BLTs in our cooler! ππ₯π₯¬π Bear had the soggy banners back up and drying (we'd left them down on the field overnight), and had his blue and yellow sled up that he built last year. πΊπ¦ He also had his small gray and black bol out, also built last year. π Our friend Randy flew all red, white, and blue on Sunday, πΊπΈ and our new friends Bob and Charmaine had all sorts of laundry up and down (gummy bears, whales, dolphins, the cutest little mini ray π€©)! The higher winds really had all the big stuff up, and a lot of line laundry, which is always a crowd favorite. The gummy bears were my personal favorite π§Έπ, but the little slugs π¦ (?) behind Bear's trusty old worm π were adorable, too! We met so many new people, from Colorado, Nebraska, and Wisconsin, as well as seeing old friends, and none of it would be possible without all the hard work that Kindle Rice and crew put into the festival every year! Preparing the field, scheduling the vendors, (hi Picture Pretty Kites and Show Stopper Kites π), and just generally being a badass! π Every year over Labor Day weekend, we hope it continues for another 35 years, at least!
