This past weekend we got to run two great events at The Guild: Wargames Con and Duel for Duels.
Wargames Con will get its own post soon, but today we want to talk about Duel for Duels.
Duel for Duels was a Duel Commander event with Dual Lands as Top 4 prizing. It started as an idea from one of our customers, Mark K, and we loved it from the start. We worked with Mark to put the prizes together, brought in Jacob K to judge, and the event came to life.
If you’re not familiar, Duel Commander is a 1v1 singleton format with its own banlist. A lot of players describe it as singleton Legacy. It’s a format we regularly support, but this event was on another level.
48 players came out, with some traveling from as far as Florida and Michigan. Jacob ran a great event as always, and we heard from player after player how glad they were that we put this on.
After battling all day, Drew Baxter came out on top.

We plan to keep supporting Duel Commander, and we’re already working on another big event for Spring 2027.
