Today I was working on a piece very, very similar to the one on the left. Same materials, all screws no pins. Just want to get the facts straight. Don't want to leave anything out, like having to build the handle three different times. Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!
Did I mention that I think ( I think, that's a new one ) my brain is jello.
Don't get me wrong, I thank God for all my blessings, and knife making is one of them, but it's my reasoning I question at the moment. Have I lost my mind.
Where is mind? Out in the water, swimming. That's a Pixies song, right.?
Today I also dug out a fishing pole from the back of the shop, went outside and practiced my casting ( man it sucked, my casting that is ) just to a break.
In all seriousness, I'm taking a break, I'll be back in the shop Sunday. Now, am I supposed to have nine finger or twelve?
Think about that for a second.

My grip is okay. My forearm is so so. Elbow is complaining. But my shoulder is not happy. You would not believe how many muscles are used in this simple process. I've done manual labor that was easier.

Some people have asked me about these pieces. And with everything go on, getting ready for bladeshow and other things, i didn't get back with them. I'm sorry.
They are 52100 steel, the black one is ebony, the green is stabalized dyed maple burl, the brown bolster is unknown, and the spalted bolster is hockberry.
Yeah! I don't know what hockberry is either.

Four gentlemen blades. Two in ebony and two in maple. The two in maple are from the same board. Been doing some experiments with staining maple. The steel is 1095, temper lines on all but the file worked one. Just switched to using parks 50 quench oil. It worked a little to well on that one. Will probably stick with my standard oil for temper lines. Price is $150 each, sheath included.

Second, if you have spoken to me about a order this year, you have a spot on the list of orders. But if not, the orders are close. I'm not taking anymore orders this years.
