Here are 5 of my Best Tips for a Smooth Process:
1. Be Upfront. Communicate your essentials. A few of mine are that I don't charge for a conversational consult, my best work comes from a loose deadline structure (although there are obviously exceptions to this at times), I'm a very visual learner, and I don't like to take money upfront.
2. Communicate often- check in at every stage. Ask continuing questions. Be curious. Let them know you haven't forgotten, and that you can't wait to start soon! Give them freedom to do the same.
3. Get to know them! This can be a fast or slow process, depending on communication format, but there is so much value in investing time on the front end to learn their personality, style, and sentiments.
4. Take your time when possible. You aren't a machine.
5. 5. Charge what you need so that you don't resent any point in this process. Your customer deserves your attention at every point, and your art deserves it too!
