If you're still trying to figure out the whole 3 days of Jesus in the grave and why Easter is not at the same time every year...
Here's A Little Bible Lesson and a little common sense. I pray this helps someone to better understand the timing of the Cross of Jesus🙏🏽❤️
Everyone in the world does not live by the Gregorian calendar...The difference between the two calendars is between how they calculate the length of a tropical year (how long it takes for the earth to move around the sun). Currently the Julian calendar is roughly 13 days behind the Gregorian calendar. In the Jewish faith, Easter is always the first Sunday after the Pascal (Jewish Passover) full moon. Also, the Jewish calendar is not a fixed calendar like we’re used to. Therefore, not all Christians celebrate Easter on the same day.
So there's that...
And concerning the 3 days...
Matthew, Luke, and John used the Jewish method of calculating time, while Mark used the Roman method. When we compare across the four Gospels and make the necessary conversions, all four Gospels agree:
Jesus was crucified at 9 AM, hung on the cross for 6 hours until He died at 3 PM. He was removed from the cross and buried before sundown at 6 PM.
With this in mind, let's go back to the beginning. According to Genesis, God always counted a day as from night to day. It's always been this way. The world has taught us to count a day as from morning to night. But in God's plan, 6pm is the start of a new day. Therefore, when they crucified Jesus, it was actually what we would consider to be Thursday evening. Thursday after 6pm is a new day so it was actually Friday according to God's standard of time. Thursday at 6pm - Saturday 6pm is 3 full 24 hour periods. Hence, he rose on Sunday and the scriptures are true!
”And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the EVENING and the MORNING were the first day.“
Genesis 1:5 KJV
So many people may say that it doesn't matter what day it was. But to me, it matters! The scriptures are infallible, immutable, and scientifically correct. God cannot lie or He wouldn't be God. It's up to us STUDY to show ourselves approved unto God...RIGHTLY dividing the Word of Truth (2 Timothy 2:15) We need to know the Word of God for ourselves...and so we can teach the Word of God more accurately to the next generation of believers. This new generation is of the information age and we're not going to win them to Jesus Christ with erroneous teaching and a lack of understanding. May God bless us all and open our understanding, as we seek to fully understand His word🙏🏽❤️
