Two of the year’s most memorable side-by-sides.

What’s interesting about these showings is how much our perception of California ageability tends to suffer from the vagaries of provenance. When bottles are pristinely kept — cellared with the same attention afforded great Burgundy or Bordeaux — they often more than hold their own.

A dozen reasons we give nearly 10 pages of our w**e list to Ridge Vineyards.

Hard to believe there’s already a ‘5th’ in front of ‘annual,’ but here we are! 

We’re celebrating with our largest ever Spring Gala, with more than 500 oysters and 200 clams - plucked from Wellfleet Sound the morning of the event - along with as much Chablis as needed to wash them down.

As in previous years we’ll be joined by Brad Kaplan from our close friends at The Wellfleet Oyster Alliance.  Brad is to oysters what Freddy Mugnier is to ‘Les Amoureuses,’ which will seem hyperbolic only to those who haven’t yet attended a Somm Cellars Spring Gala…
