This group is a mix of Roman Republic, Imperial, Provincial and Greek issues.

The two coins I would like to preview are #1: a very attractive Roman Republic denarius issued under L Aemilius Lepidus PAullus in 62 BC. The reverse refers to the defeat of the Macedonian king Perseus. Coin #2 is a very attractive Tetradrachm from Alabanda in Caria in the name of Alexander the Great. The obverse features the head of Herakles right wearing a lion skin - Countermark with the head of Tyche. The reverse depicts Zeus seated left.

The two coins I want to preview from this group are: #1 a very nice Argenteus of Diocletian (284-305). NGC AU 5/5 3/5 (brushed). #2 is a very attractive denarius of Trajan (98-117) with Genius reverse. Great surfaces and strike.

The two coins from tonight's group that I wish to preview are an uncommon denarius of the Emperess Sabina 128-137, (wife of Hadrian 117-138). The reverse depicts Venus standing right, holding a helmet and leaning on a column. The second coin is an attractive denarius of Macrinus 217-218.

The two coins I would like to preview are #1 a really nicely toned Miliaresion of Basil I (867-886) #2 an attractive 30mm diameter Follis of Michael II with Theophilus (820-829).

The two coins that I wish to preview from this group are #1. A stunning AE Hemilitron (26mm) of Hieron II of Syracuse (275-215 BC). #2 is a Tetradrachm from Mytelene struck 215-200 BC in the name of Alexander the Great.

The two coins I wish to preview are #1 - a very attractive Roman Republic denarius issued under L Farsuleius Mensor in 75 BC. Cr 392/1a. The obverse depicts Libertas, the reverse shows a soldier in a b**a helping a togate person onto the b**a. Ex Tom Cederlind with tag. #2 is a stunning Antoninianus of Gordian III (238-244). Sharp dies for both dies with only a small area of striking weakness to quibble about. Ex Coin Galleries Mail Bid Sale with tag.

The two coins I wish to preview are #1 - an exceptional Antoninianus of Allectus (293-6) from the London mint. Great strike, strong dies and a bit of silvering in the fields. #2 is a rare QUINARIUS of Domitian 81-96 - RIC 44, 1.62g, 16mm diameter. The quinarius was struck in very small quantities compared to the denarius. Some scratches in the fields (not by me.)

The two coins I would like to preview are: #1 a Denarius issued by Faustus Cornelius Sulla in 56 BC. He was the son of the famous dictator and issued coins commemorating his father. This one depicts the head of Venus on the obverse and three trophies on the reverse. (Cr 426/3). Coin #2 is an exceptional example of an anonymous quadrans issued during the reigns of Hadrian and Antoninus Pius (117-161 AD). The obverse depicts the bust of Mars and the reverse, a cuirass (body armor). RIC II 218

The two coins I wish to preview are: #1 a fantastic tetradrachm of Ptolemy I of Egypt 305-282 BC. The delta behind the ear is quite strong. CPE 168 / Sv 255. Coin #2 is a choice new-style tetradrachm of Athens struck 137/136 BC.

This is a mixed group that includes Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Islamic and Roman Provincial issues.

The two coins I would like to preview are an electrum Nomisma issued under Nicephorus III 1078-1081 AD. This coin was graded / authenticated by ANACS as VF30 (removed from encapsulation). The second coin is a very attractive denarius of Caracalla (198-217) as a young emperor with Minerva and trophy reverse. Great toning on this coin.
