A few of the coins (early Islamic and Kushan) will land in the ancient category rather than the world category.

The two coins I wish to preview are 1: a very attractive "gun money" shilling of Ireland issued under James II in 1689. The metal used was from melted down guns (and bells and scrap metal...) There are actually two of these in this group of coins. The second coin is a base-gold Dinar of the Kushan king Kipunada 335-350 AD.

Here are the two coins I am going to preview from tonight's group: #1 is a Roman Republic denarius issued under Q Philippus in 129 BC (Cr 259/1). This features the helmeted head of Roma on the obverse. The reverse features a Macedonia horseman riding right. The reverse refers to Q Marcius Philippus who campaigned against King Perseus of Macedonia in 169 BC. Coin #2 is gold Histamenon Nomisma issued under Constantine X 1059-1069. The obverse shows Christ seated, facing, holding the book of Gospels. The reverse has Constantine, standing, facing, holding a labarum and globus cruciger.

The two coins I would like to preview today are: #1 An NGC MS63 1880-cc VAM-3a variety Morgan dollar. (minor double die at the date). #2 is a Half Crown of Charles I of England 1625-1649. Typical weak center on the obverse, oval shield on the reverse. SCBC 2774.

The two coins I am going to preview from today's coins are a pair of very attractive Imperial denarii. #1 is an issue of Titus as Augustus 79-81 AD. #2 is a denarius of Marcus Aurelius 161-180 AD.

The two coins I wish to preview from this group are #1 - an NGC certified Choice XF 5/5, 3/5 Tetradrachm of Tigranes II (the great) of Armenia 95-56 BC #2 is a Tetradrachm of Nero issued at Alexandria that has a wonderful galley depicted on the reverse.

The two coins I wish to preview are a Tetradrachm of Athens, NGC Choice XF. The second is an attractive hemidrachm of Sikyon featuring the mythical beast: Chimaera / dove on the reverse.

The two coins I wish to preview from tonight's posting are: #1 an exceptional Tetradrachm issued at Alexandria Egypt for Aurelian with Vabalathus. From 270-272, there was an un-easy peace between Aurelian and Vabalathus (in Palmyra). #2 is a rare issue of Delphi in Phokis that features the temple of Apollo on the reverse. Diva Faustina Sr. on the obverse. The temple of Apollo is famous for the Oracle of Delphi. This was considered the center of the Greek world.

The two coins I wish to preview from this evenings coins are: #1 a Stater from the Island of Thasos circa 480 BC. This issue features a Satyr carrying away protesting female. #2 is a Stater issued under Datames - Satrap in Cilicia 378-372 BC. Baal on the obverse / Ana and Datames standing on the reverse.
