10 years ago, Cotton Bale Market was born. 🤍
Did we ever think we would make it this far? No—not even in my wildest dreams did I imagine it would become what it is today.
For eight years, I grew this business through my love for refinishing furniture and home decor. We built an incredible clientele, and we took so much pride in every piece that left our shop. During those eight years, we refinished more than 1,300 pieces of timeless furniture.
Then I became sick…
Painting itself wasn’t the problem—it was all the preparation that went into it that was affecting my health. And if you know me, you know I don’t do anything halfway. It has to be done properly, or I won’t do it at all.
By the end of 2024, we officially decided to close that chapter, and it broke my heart. I built that part of my business from the ground up. I furnished entire homes for some of you, and hearing how much you still love and treasure those pieces brings me more joy than I can explain.
But God already knew that Cotton Bale Market’s story wasn’t over.
God has always given me clear visions for this business. In 2020, He began showing me a baby boutique. My question to Him was, “How can a childless woman have a baby boutique?”
His answer was simple: Do it.
I’ll be honest—I listened, but I also found a way to be disobedient. I created the smallest space possible, thinking it would be enough. I could tell God I had done what He asked, but that wasn’t what He wanted—and I learned that quickly!
Two years later, in 2022, we created another space that I thought was reasonable. Once again, it wasn’t enough. God was asking for more, and I kept resisting.
Finally, in 2025, we expanded our Baby Boutique to three times its previous size—and I think God is happy with it now. 🤍
For this childless woman, the Baby Boutique has brought unimaginable joy. Watching so many of you experience the blessing of motherhood, being included in those precious moments, and getting to know and love your little ones has been one of the greatest gifts of my life and I’m so incredibly grateful.
Then came the Women’s Boutique.
And if I’m being completely honest with y’all, I didn’t want it. I knew that one day we would probably need to add it, but I wasn’t ready.
Last year, guess who started showing me visions again? Yep—that’s right. There He was once more, showing me exactly what I needed to do.
And my answer was…silence.
Christmas came and went, and I continued pretending God wasn’t talking to me. Finally, in May, I told my husband. And being as loving and supportive as he has always been, Douglas immediately said, “LET’S DO IT!”
So here we are—entering a completely new season for Cotton Bale Market, and my heart could not be more grateful.
I have owned a business since I was 22 years old, shortly after graduating from university. For 18 years, I have had the privilege of building businesses, serving people, learning difficult lessons, and watching God turn my smallest steps of faith into things far greater than I could have imagined.
Cotton Bale Market has changed many times over these last 10 years, but the heart behind it has remained the same: serving our community with love, gratitude, and purpose.
To every person who has purchased a piece of furniture, shopped for a gift, celebrated a new baby, created a registry, supported our Women’s Boutique, shared a post, encouraged me, prayed for us, or simply walked through our doors—thank you.
You have helped carry Cotton Bale Market through every chapter.
Here’s to 10 years of faith, growth, change, obedience, and blessings beyond my wildest dreams.
And here’s to whatever God has planned next. 🤍
Love,
Bee
