It’s been 3 years since my very dear friend and business partner, Shelly, passed away.
Green Apple Boutique was Shelly’s vision. It started as a “no name” pop-up in a little neighborhood club house. After a few seasons it got a name, moved to Shelly’s garage, moved on to beautiful model homes, found a brick & mortar home at The Village, then expanded to bigger stores at The Village at Meridian & Nampa and finally added outdoor street markets. How I wish Shelly was around to see the Street Markets. She grew up in Texas and LOVED visiting the outdoor flea market in Canton,TX. It was always her dream to see Green Apple outside under the tents.
I miss her.
Doing this work has been difficult and lonely. Many of you were here during that time and remember that I was ready to shut it all down, but at the request of Shelly’s husband, Kyle, I kept it going. It was a perfect way to pay respect to Shelly, her innate creativity and gift of gathering people. Shelly and I had talked about what would come next..... when we felt this boutique season of life was over. Did you know we had a little corsage business during that season of life when we needed them and were frustrated at how much money people had to pay for mediocre product?! It was named Chloe’s Flower Shop in honor of her only daughter. There have been multiple times that I’ve said, “ok this is the last time”, but then during set-up as I see each of my vendors my heart would fill and I would say “maybe”. Then during the boutique as I would see friends and return customers come support me and my vendors I would say, “ok 1 more time”.
