As temperatures drop and seasons change, is your instrument acting up? 🎻

The transition from summer to fall brings big swings in temperature and indoor humidity—and wooden string instruments react to every shift.

Here are the most common autumn setup issues to watch for:

-Slipping or Stuck Pegs: Dry air shrinks pegs, causing them to slip; humidity swells them, causing them to stick.
-Leaning Bridge: Seasonal tuning slowly pulls the bridge top forward, leading to warping or collapse if uncorrected.
-Buzzing & Rattles: Temperature changes shift the wood, altering fingerboard clearance or loosening internal fittings.
-Sound Post Shifts: Humidity drops can loosen the sound post, dulling your tone and projection.

Check out our full guide to learn quick care tips and know when to bring your instrument in for a fall tune-up!
