Two new girls have officially joined the homestead! 🐄🤎

We’re so excited to welcome two Holstein heifers to Shear Homestead! 🐄🐄

Our little farm family just keeps growing, and these two are already settling in and making themselves at home. There’s something pretty special about watching our kids learn to care for animals, getting our hands dirty, and building the homestead we’ve dreamed about one animal at a time.

From pigs and goats to chickens, ducks, and now cows… we may have a slight addiction to bringing home farm animals. 😂

These girls are just the beginning of another new chapter here at Shear Homestead, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds.

Welcome home, girls! ❤️🐄

It’s never easy saying goodbye to animals that have been part of our everyday lives. They’ve brought our family so much joy, taught our kids about responsibility, and given us plenty of memories along the way.

But this is also why we homestead. 🌱

We raised these pigs knowing exactly where our food came from, how they were cared for, and what went into raising them. Today, we stocked our freezer with food that will help feed our family for months to come.

It’s not always pretty. It’s not always easy. And sometimes it’s downright emotional.

But it’s real.

We love our animals. We respect the process. And we’re incredibly grateful for the food they’re providing for our family. ❤️🐷

From piglets to pork — the circle of homesteading. 🐷➡️🥓
