Do you shop for what you need… or how you feel?
I know firsthand that shopping can sometimes have very little to do with actually needing something.
For years, I shopped to soothe myself. Buying something new gave me temporary gratification — but over time, I also accumulated way too much stuff and avoided dealing with what was really bothering me.
And even now, I still have to catch myself.
Before I buy something, I try to stop and ask:
Do I really need this?
Do I really want this?
Do I really want to add more stuff when I’m trying to get rid of stuff?
That doesn’t mean I’ve stopped shopping. I actually love to shop. I do my best to shop smart.
And with clothing and accessories, I have a simple rule:
If something comes in, something has to go out.
This helps me think twice before buying something new — and keeps me from slipping back into accumulating more than I need.
Smart Shopping isn’t about not shopping. It’s about being more intentional about what we buy and why we’re buying it.
And sometimes, Smart Shopping means knowing when not to buy.
That philosophy is also why I created my personal Amazon store, SunflowerVentures.Store — to make shopping for quality items easier for ProAgers.
I’ve organized the store into 12 collections, and the items I select are highly rated — at least 4.0 stars, with most rated even higher. 🌻
The goal isn’t to accumulate more stuff. It’s to find smart solutions and quality products that you’ll actually use, enjoy or that can make life a little easier.
🌻 Be a ProAger… not an Old Ager.
