Regularly inspect and knock down spider webs around the eaves of the home as well as the base of the home. Pay close attention to areas where there is little to no traffic as these can be attractive to spiders such as the black widow. After knocking down webs treat those areas with a light dusting or a residual spray to help reduce a recurring infestation.

Eliminating ants is best achieved if you can locate the anthill. If you are seeing trailing ants but are unsure of where they are coming from look for the ones carrying food and follow them, they are headed home! Once the anthill is located, apply bait around the area nearest to the anthill but never directly on top of it.

Keep bushes and shrubs trimmed, especially those close to the home to help to reduce pests. Keep trees trimmed and don't allow them to touch the roof or eaves of the home as this provides a natural bridge for pests to enter the structure.

Hope the previous tip was helpful and here goes another: Most Arizona insects cannot withstand the heat of the day so they will look for cracks and crevices that provide shelter. Block fences are areas that are particularly attractive to insects. Treat these areas around your home and yard by injecting a long lasting residual pesticide product like a dust.

As a thanks to our friends we want to start posting friendly tips that we have come to appreciate during our 30+ years in the pest control industry: Identify potential areas that provide shelter for insects during the day such as welcome mats, plant containers, patio furniture, trash bins, or leaf litter and debris throughout the yard. Treat under and around these locations to reduce the amount of insects around your home. If there is an excess of debris or leaf litter consider cleaning those areas up to eliminate harborage areas where pests can thrive.
