Heartbroken it is time to say goodbye to my friend of 50 years Charles (Fig) Newton. Charles lived a life of joy, encouragement, and integrity. We attended college and education classes together as we simultaneously left to pursue a life of music. He spent almost 30 years standing next to me at The Music Store that I co-owned. He was always the voice of help and knowledge for teachers, parents, students, all customers, and fellow staff. Charles also spent many days making music with me at several churches over the decades, as well as in he band Rhythm Edition which he was a part of for decades. I'll thrilled to say, after the store closed, He finally had his book published, as well as teaching many students, gigs, and worked as a support teacher. He was the true example of his regular quote, "I'll sleep when I die!" Sleep well my great friend. I'll miss you always.
