Linux has crossed the 10% desktop market share mark in North America for the first time, according to StatCounter, reaching 10.61% in July after sitting at just 3.56% in May.

Most of those gains appear to have come at Windows' expense, with Microsoft's desktop OS dropping from 64.66% to 57.63% over the same period.

While the figures mark a major milestone for Linux, the unusually sharp jump has also sparked skepticism, with some observers suggesting the increase could be linked to bot traffic or changes in how StatCounter classified previously unidentified systems rather than a sudden surge in desktop adoption.

Microsoft plans to bring Xbox 360 games to PC, according to leaked documents | News

August 3 — Microsoft announced last month that it was bringing four original Xbox games to PC through a new Backward Compatibility for PC program. Now, it seems Microsoft has bigger PC port plans in store, expanding its backwards-facing content strategy.

According to reporting from The Verge, a leaked document indicates that Microsoft plans to offer developers the option to make their old Xbox 360 games available on PC. The Xbox 360 backwards compatibility will reportedly be available on "Xbox PCs," Microsoft's upcoming Project Helix, and handheld devices.

Microsoft has not confirmed the reporting at this time.

Another happy customer with a restored original XBOX that has been upgraded to a 2 TB hard drive with the 2 TB XBOX Origins set up. This XBOX was out of commission for 20 years so it was a point of pride to get it working again.
