Some people see a cafetera… I see a canvas!

I spotted this oversized cafetera at TJ Maxx and instantly fell in love. Of course, I couldn’t leave it alone—so I picked up my paintbrush and gave it my own floral touch!

Hand-painted blooms, winding leaves, and a little cafecito inspiration… three of my favorite things coming together in one piece.

Some of my favorite paintings begin with something familiar—an object that carries memories!

Bustelo con Flores brings together two things that continually find their way into my work: the Cuban coffee or the Cafetera and an abundance of colorful flowers.

For me, the Bustelo can represents home, family, conversation and the little rituals that connect generations. The flowers bring movement, joy and the feeling that our traditions continue to grow and bloom with us.

Created in 2026, this 18” × 20” acrylic-on-paper piece has also become part of my professional portfolio. Seeing it as a finished artwork—and knowing that its prints have found their way into other homes—reminds me why I love creating art rooted in culture and personal stories.

Strong, fearless, elegant, and deeply rooted in her heritage—surrounded by royal palms, sugarcane, tropical flowers, and the unmistakable colors of Cuba. A little bit country, a whole lot of Cuban attitude. 🤠🌴
