Today, we pause to remember the lives lost, the heroes who ran toward danger, and the families whose lives were forever changed on September 11, 2001.
Twenty-five years later, we still remember the heartbreak, the courage, and the way our country came together as one.
I was a 5th grader at Medlar View, in Miamisburg. I remember being able to feel in the building that something was off. I remember seeing adults crying. My teacher chose not to turn the tv on for us. I think Iโm maybe glad for that. I remember the afternoon announcement that all evening activities were canceled. That was when I really knew something had probably happened, but never did I think I would go home and sit with my parents in our living room, watching and learning about the horrific events that took place that beautiful Tuesday morning in NYC, DC + Pennsylvania. My dad was waiting at the bus stop for us that day & when I saw him kneeling as soon as we got off the bus, it really hit me. I needed to know right then what happened.
May we never forget those who were taken too soon and may we always honor their memory. ๐บ๐ธ
