Bunnies and Peeps Protest at Renowned Chocolate Shop

(Middletown April 1, 2026) Demanding “Freedom for our brothers and sisters,” hundreds of hares, rabbits and peeps crowded the sidewalk in front of Tschudin Chocolates, holding protest signs demanding the release of chocolate rabbits and marshmallow peeps. Chocolatier Roberto Tschudin Lucheme, looking puzzled, said “but they’re all going places! They’re being adopted into loving homes!” Protest leader Peter Rabbit, in response, said sarcastically, “You mean they’ve going to be eaten, don’t you? Said Tschudin, “What people do in their own homes is between them and their conscience and it’s none of our concern.” Rabbit, noticing the arrival of the Middletown’s Police SWAT team sounded a retreat, but was heard, muttering under his breath, “wait ‘till next year. You’re not going to get away with this. I’ll be back.” Middletown police, noting that the crowd had dispersed, had no further comment.
