🏺 Discover what you can create with clay!

Our Teen Pottery class is a welcoming space for young ceramic artists of all experience levels to explore the possibilities of working with clay.

Students will learn the fundamentals of wheel throwing and glazing stoneware pottery, with select handbuilding techniques introduced throughout the session to expand their creative possibilities. Whether creating functional pieces or exploring artistic expression, students will build confidence, develop technical skills, and discover their own creative voice in clay.

✨ Thursdays | 4:00–6:00 PM
🍂 Fall Session begins August 27

Students also receive weekend bench time on Saturdays and Sundays from 12:30–3:00 PM, giving them additional opportunities to practice, refine their techniques, and continue developing their work outside of class. Potters may stay an additional hour from 3:00–4:00 PM with a $5 cash donation to our Scholarship Fund.

Taught by Jack Skinner, our 2025 Artist in Residence and current Studio Tech, who also teaches ceramics at Choate Rosemary Hall.

Give your teen the opportunity to experiment, create, and discover the joy of making with clay.

✨ Let your young maker's imagination take shape in clay!

This fall, young artists will explore the creative possibilities of clay while learning the fundamentals of handbuilding in our Youth Handbuilding class.

Students will transform simple lumps of clay into one-of-a-kind functional and sculptural pieces using techniques like pinching, coiling, slab construction, and extruding. Along the way, they'll experiment with texture, pattern, and surface decoration using stamps, carvings, lace, and natural objects.

🎨 Tuesdays | 4:00–6:00 PM
🍂 Fall Session begins September 1

Artist and educator Linda Schiwall will guide students through the process of creating, experimenting, and discovering the joy of working with clay.

Give your child the chance to build confidence, explore creativity, and make something completely their own.

There’s something mesmerizing about watching a loom at work. 🧶

Threads lift, shuttles fly, patterns emerge, and color becomes cloth, one rhythmic movement at a time.
It’s part mathematics, part engineering, part artistry, and entirely satisfying to watch come together.

Curious about weaving? Fall classes are open for registration at Wesleyan Potters, and beginners are always welcome! Come learn the craft, find your rhythm, and see what you can create, one thread at a time.
