Hi Wispies!

I can't believe it's August!

The date for book club is changing this month due to school starting, schedules changing, and we are taking a family vacation.

August's meeting will be on Monday, 17th 7-9PM. I am sorry for any inconvenience this poses and if you can't make it - just know, there are a lot of exciting things coming up for you to attend!

For this month, we are reading Spark of the Everflame by Penn Cole for the adult book club and then The One and Only Bob by Katherine Applegate for our family book club.

I am so excited for this one and I hope you are too! If you didn't know, this is part of a series, and the last book will be releasing on September 8th. I will add the pre-order link to that on this email.

August Adult & Family Book Clubs information post. If you purchased Spark of the Everflame by Penn Cole through me, you should have already received your email a few days ago. General release will be tomorrow! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and gets to read some Spark tonight! I luckily am reading an ARC of Burn (thank you, Penn) and 👀👀👀👀👀👀YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!! If you’re super excited like me, I’ll be hosting a Burn midnight release party - tickets will be announced soon.

As someone who has ADHD and a child on the spectrum, creating a calm space is something that is so important to me. Need a place to read? Need a place to reset your nervous system? Need a place to work? Need a place to just be you? Come hang! I did just get in some Loops, so if you see me with those in, I can still hear/help you - I just need to quiet my surroundings and lower the sensory input these days. Hope to see you soon! ✨ Check Out Wispie!

Meet Wispie, our adventurous little shop mascot! Each month, one family will have the chance to "check out" Wispie from Wisp Bookshop for a 24-hour adventure.

Here's how it works:

Enter the Drawing:
Stop by Wisp Bookshop anytime to add your family's name to the Wispie Adventure Jar.

A New Adventure Each Weekend:
Before each weekend, I'll randomly draw one family to be Wispie's next adventure buddy.

Take Wispie Home:
The selected family will "check out" Wispie from Friday AM - Sunday AM just like checking out a library book! Whether you spend the day baking, reading, visiting a museum, or simply snuggling up for storytime, Wispie is happy to tag along.

Capture the Magic:
Take photos of Wispie's adventure and send them to me (details are in the take-home packet). Feel free to write a sentence or two about what you did together!

Become Part of Wispie's Story:
When Wispie comes back to the shop, I'll add your family's photos and memories to her Adventure Album so everyone can follow her magical journey through our community.

Can't bear to send Wispie back after 24 hours? Good news—you can adopt one of your very own!

Our handmade Wispie plushies are now available in the shop, along with adorable Wispie keychains that are perfect for backpacks, purses, keys, or book bags.

The wait is almost over...

Join us for an unforgettable evening as we celebrate the release of ACOTAR Book 6 with a magical Midnight Release Ball!

✨ Come dressed as your favorite Court—Night, Day, Dawn, Winter, Autumn, Spring, or Summer—and spend the evening surrounded by fellow members of the fae.

The festivities begin at 8:30 PM on October 27th and will include:

💃 Dancing
🧁 Light refreshments
🥂 Specialty drinks available for purchase

All drink proceeds will benefit The Gibby and help support their community programs.

Then, as the clock strikes midnight, everyone who pre-ordered their copy through Wisp Bookshop will be among the first to pick up their book and celebrate the next chapter together.

Our adult book club is more than just talking about a book—it’s an experience. Expect themed activities, trivia, games, photo opportunities, great conversations, light refreshments, and a room full of people who love fantasy just as much as you do. Every month is a different adventure!

How it works:

• Guaranteed early access to tickets
• A discounted ticket price
• A chance to support your local indie bookstore

Founders also receive early ticket access as part of their membership. Any remaining tickets are released to the public after early access ends.

🗓 Celebration: Sunday, August 2 | 4:30–6:00 PM

Our Family Book Club is designed to make reading together fun and stress-free! When you purchase the monthly book through Wisp, you’ll receive an optional reading guide that includes:
💚 A family-friendly reading schedule
💚 Discussion questions after each reading
💚 Optional activities to do together

Then, at the beginning of the following month, families come together at Wisp Bookshop to celebrate the story with activities, crafts, discussion, and light refreshments. You don’t have to finish the book to join us—we’d still love to see you!

The goal is simple: build community, create magical memories, and help families fall in love with reading together.

Wispie is our very special adventure companion, and she’s ready to be checked out—just like a library book!

One lucky family will take Wispie home to share in everyday magic, create special memories, and bring her along on an adventure. Before returning her to Wisp Bookshop, snap a few photos of your family’s day together. We’ll add them to Wispie’s Adventure Album so everyone can see the magical places she’s been!
