It's that time of year again, when Dave takes a fortnight's holiday.

Astral Castle will reopen Monday, July 20.

Please ignore any posted store hours in the meantime as they DO NOT APPLY until the 20th.

Due to the expected inclement weather and Dave's general wimpiness:

We will be closing early on Friday, Jan. 23
(no Friday Night Magic)

And closed all day Saturday, Jan 24.

(Also, may be late opening Monday, Jan. 26)

Sorry everyone!

Astral Castle will be closed for a few days until I think I'm no-longer infectious with the relatively mild case of COVID I came down with.

In particular we won't be open this Friday evening (October 17) for Friday Night Magic, so if you know someone who normally attends please pass on this message.

Final Fantasy
(prerelease day June 06)

Due to severe allocation of our order we will NOT be able to sell full displays of boosters.

We will have a limit of 10 packs per player per day.

(I hate to say this, but I am sure there are companies on-line who are getting lots more than us and would be only too happy to have you pre-order displays from them. These days I find myself thinking "est quod est" far too often.)

*Changes to Astral Castle's schedule for Magic: The Gathering Prerelease Events.*

I am thinking of changing from having two tournaments on the Saturday (at 2pm and 8pm) to running the first tournament on the Friday at 7pm and the second on Saturday at 2pm, thereby not having to change closing times on those two days.

Previously we have cancelled Friday Night Magic in favour of staying open later on the Saturday, but this means that people unaware of the tournament may show up Friday evening thinking we should be open, which is not good for them or for our reputation.

I am hoping for some feedback on this, possibly on the lines of "About time!" or "Nooo!"

Vacation time again.

Astral castle will be closed from Monday, July 1st; reopening Monday, July 15.

The last time I took holiday photos was in 1966 when I was 10, and if I ever wrote any "wish you were here" postcards I can't imagine why, but rest assured I'll be having a grand old time going nowhere and doing nothing, same as usual.
