Flower arranging with children requires one very important skill: letting go. 🌼

Let them choose the clashing colors. Let them pick the wonky blooms.

Let them put every flower on one side of the vase if that’s where they think it belongs.

Because the goal was never a perfect arrangement. It’s giving them the freedom to create something that’s completely their own.

Every harvest, my children get to choose one flower.

Sometimes it’s the most beautiful bloom in the field. And even though I know it’ll probably be missing petals or completely destroyed within minutes, I let them have it.

Because longevity was never the point.

Flowers remind us to slow down, notice beauty, and enjoy what’s right in front of us. The bloom will come again.

Childhood won’t.
