I’m so grateful that we had the opportunity to help bring a little extra magic to Simpson Elementary’s Book Fair and Grandfriends Week with this balloon backdrop! 🎈🌈📖

💚📚 64 VOLUNTEERS. ONE BIG BOOK FAIR. SO. MUCH. GRATITUDE. 📚💚

We have a LOT to be thankful for after an incredible Book Fair + Grandfriends Week, but at the very top of that list are 64 amazing volunteers who showed up, jumped in, and made it all happen! 🥹💚

And when we say they made it happen, we mean they REALLY made it happen. 😂

From transforming our library into a book fair to helping us find, organize, and coordinate all those wonderful volunteers (because apparently, even getting the volunteers requires volunteers 🤣), there was so much happening behind the scenes!

Our volunteers...

📚 Helped transform the library into a magical book fair filled with books, squishes, STEAM toys and excitement.
🛡️ Worked the check-in table, helping keep our school safe while making sure check-in was smooth and efficient.
🙌🏼 Helped organize and coordinate the many moving parts of the week.
💳 Assisted students at the registers as they purchased their books.
📦 Restocked inventory as our students found their next favorite reads.
📸 Captured special memories by taking pictures of our Grandfriends with their Simpson kiddos.
🖼️ Edited Grandfriends photos from home.
🚗 Picked up and delivered printed photos so our Grandfriends could take home a special keepsake.
🌙 Helped during our evening Open House, continuing to support our families and students long after the school day ended.
🧋 Picked up and delivered drinks for our staff.
🍕 Ordered and coordinated dinner for our staff.
🧹 Helped return the library to its original setup at the end of the week.

And all of this was done by parents, aunts, grandparents, and even a few of our very own students! 64 people giving their time, talents, and energy to make Book Fair Week special for our Simpson community. 🥹💚

We cannot say it enough...
BOOK FAIR WEEK COULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED WITHOUT YOU!
And we know the librarian would agree! 📚💚

To every volunteer who helped lift a box, check in a family, ring up a purchase, restock a shelf, take a photo, edit a photo, deliver a photo, order pizza, or put the library back together...

You didn't just help us run a book fair. You helped create experiences and memories that our students and Grandfriends will carry with them. You made our school feel connected, supported, and loved.
