Music is something that we can all connect with anywhere on planet earth. We are DJs that love the culture and making people move. The Past: The retail business known as "DJ Culture" was once known as a record store serving the Orange County, California area from 2002 to 2012 (located in Costa Mesa and later in Huntington Beach, California). Founder Jeff Adachi (Simply Jeff) took his second record
store venture in 2002 and this time joins good friends Russ Sakurai and John Gavin as co-owners...DJ Culture was then born! The mission was to provide an alternative place for DJs and music fans who craved dance music culture. For 10 years this brick and mortar store was a place artist from around the world came to find rare dance music on vinyl to the latest DJ gear not found in regular retail stores. For the fans, this shop had the best CD compilations, underground artist t-shirts, rare dj influenced vinyl toys and rave light accessories! People came from miles around to purchase hard to find music and gear or just hang out and get the latest news ... plus you never knew who would walk through that door! Artist like Deadmau5, Uberzone, Afrika Bambaataa, Stacey Q, Jon Saint James, Swedish Egil, Kascade, DJ Rap, DJ Irene, Charles Feelgood, Ean Golden, DJ Shortee, DJ Faust, John Kelly, DJ Dan, Reid Speed, Frankie Bones, Elite Force, Meat Katie, Fort Knox Five, DJ Swamp, DJ Aero to Tommy Lee have all come by the shop to say hi and to support the cause. DJ Culture also served as a ticket outlet and informational hot spot to all the coolest dance events in town. Last but not least, it was a place to learn how to become a DJ. Teaching the next generation of DJs the skills needed to work in the club environment. Well as circumstances and technology would have it, all good things must come to an end! Although this chapter as a community one stop shop for DJs and fans is now over, we look forward to what tomorrow brings.
