January 2025 changed everything for our family. Watching my wife face Stage 3 colon cancer was the most humbling experience of my life. She fought with a grace and diligence that I still find hard to put into words. While she was conquering surgeries and chemotherapy, I was grappling with the feeling of being "just" a spectator—someone who wanted to help but didn't know how.

Writing became my way of standing beside her. It was my way of processing the fear and documenting the strength I saw in her every day. Now that she has reached that beautiful "cancer-free" milestone, I’m sharing our story to remind others that they aren't alone in this. Whether you’re the one fighting or the one holding their hand, you have a community here. We’re all in this together. One foot in front of the other.

I was asked to do a custom piece for a local group that helps support children. So if you know of me you know I can't say no when it comes to helping kiddos. I had help from my 7yr old on the words, she did amazing. What do you think?

This piece was done for a couple that does amazing things to support Veterans in Oklahoma. They install free flagpoles in Veteran’s yards so the Veterans can fly the Stars and Stripes flag they defended.
