First two pictures are smiths bay. 3rd picture is out from the tunnel on east lake where everyone drives through to go from east to west. We are sitting at about 13 inches in those spots. The middle of west was open before the cold front so if you are gonna be running an off road vehicle on west. I would not cross west lake. So to add to this as I don’t want to be responsible if something happens to your machine. Anytime you go on the lake with a truck or off road vehicle, you are going out at your own risk. Make sure you are checking your path In front of you as ice can freeze unevenly or have holes open up. Please be safe this weekend and use your head as much as possible. A Hard house went through on mini. The x isn’t the exact spot but it’s on that side of the lake. So if you’re fishing mini you need to be cautious of the hole. The ice is plenty safe to be walking out on. the fish are biting I just believe with the warm weather we got it cause a puddle of water around the shack and the weight of it was to much. The next 10 days are gonna be some much needed cold weather. East and west lake have been extremely good. I would just walk if you’re not familiar with the lakes. Ice report: I went out today to check after the rain. I only checked west lake. The ice seems to of held up just fine! I only checked the bays. So If you’re getting adventurous and going out towards the middle make sure to check!
Smith bays: out from the park was about 9 inches
Emerson bay: 9-10 inches
Tri boji: 9-10 inches
Millers bay: 7-8 inches the point that separates millers from to little millers is open.
The first picture is the open water in millers. The second one is to show you where I checked the ice at in smiths bay.

Tungsten jigs and plastics were my choice. Live bait works as well. I just like plastics. For now we will call them the only Stan’s jigs and plastics so you know what to ask for. That what i used today,and thats what I will be using 99% of this year. So any pictures I post unless said else wise will be on our tungsten jigs and plastics! Happy fishing everyone.

FISHING REPORT!

what to use on
blue gills: 3mm or 4mm tungsten jigs with plastics,maggots,or wax worms.
crappie perch and yellows: small spoon or tungsten jigs with plastics,maggots,wax worms or minnow heads.
walleyes jigging baits,spoons,or a dead stick. minnow heads or maggots on the trouble hook.

WEST LAKE:3-6 inches in most bays. people are catching blue gills and crappie in Emerson Bay and the North end (tri boji).

EAST LAKE: 10+ inches of ice. A of mix panfish in alot of places on east lake. the more you explore the better chances you have to find fish that are more active. but you always have the common spots like the Ritz.

MINI: 10+ inched of ice. mix of panfish, you have to sort to get the nice ones but definitely can get them. getting away from the crowd is always best. lots of the fish are in the 5–7-inch range. but the gill can be up to 10 inches in there and the crappie up to 13+.

SPIRIT LAKE: 10+ inches of ice one spirit, perch and walleye. If you want to have a chance at walleyes spirit is probably gonna be your best bet, Same goes with perch. pick your favorite side of the lake and don't stay in one place to long. perch most are 7-9 inches with some 10-12. I would say it depend on how hard you work at it. walleyes most are 11-16 inches with the chance at some bigger ones as well.
