Artist Spotlight: Ed Good
On view through September 2
Artist Statement:
Ed Good is an interdisciplinary artist based in Millington, Michigan, who has been actively creating and exhibiting since 2009. His artistic journey began at Schoolcraft College, where he formally trained in watercolor, pen, and ink—mediums he continues to practice alongside an expanded mastery of acrylic painting.
Over the past decade, Good’s creative focus has evolved significantly into the realm of Abstract Expressionism and sustainable art production. He specializes in intricate mixed-media wood assemblages and mosaics, meticulously integrating eco-friendly components and repurposed industrial or raw materials. His tactile, structural panels breathe new life into items that would typically be discarded or destined for landfills, utilizing a unique combination of scrap wood, glass, seashells, stones, pebbles, and beach-found driftwood. For Good, navigating the physical complexities of these salvaged mediums has been an ongoing process of experimentation, rewarding curiosity, and technical discovery.
