We didn’t need notifications to know it was time to come home.
The streetlights handled that.
Our days were filled with muddy boots, scraped knees, tree forts, creek adventures, and enough bad ideas to keep life interesting.
We left the house after breakfast and didn’t come back until supper.
No screens.
No chargers.
No endless scrolling.
Just imagination, freedom, and friends who showed up at the front door instead of sending a message.
Somehow, with all that dirt, sunshine, and fresh air, we learned how to solve problems, take chances, and make memories that still make us smile today.
We may have less energy now, but we carry something priceless:
The stories of a childhood that was lived outdoors, one adventure at a time.
