This knife was mailed out yesterday to an unsuspecting recipient to whom I owe a debt of gratitude.
Blade from Mora of Sweden, nickel silver guard, acrylic front piece, stacked deep night sky corian and a buffalo horn pommel. Sheath is modified Korpi from Finland.

The last couple of years we've been working with knifemaker, Robert Wood at Serendipity Forge in Denton, NC to complete some projects for us.

The first pictured is a Kanetsune Yanashi-style knife for my brother.

The second is an interpretation of the Last of the Dogmen knife, done in trade for scrimshaw work done for us by friend and Master Horner, John DeWald.

The last knife pictured is a Nessmuk Robert did for me personally. In my opinion, this is the most perfectly-executed knife I've ever handled. The sheath and ferrocium rod pouch are my own work.

This is a spec knife we did a few years ago to see how natural seasoned antler and synthetic Ivorex would look together, separated by a tapered ebony spacer. Nickle silver fittings and mosaic pins seemed appropriate as did the red liners and epoxy. The knife is slim, very lively in the hand, and scary sharp. Photo by the lovely Mrs. Anderson.

Roadkill Nessmuk

The knife was started with a small box of elk antler from a road kill, and this was really the only usable piece. The blade came from a short length of commercial band saw steel retrieved from the scrap pile at a Virginia sawmill. I had wanted to do a Nessmuk-style blade for some time and this was the perfect combination of components.

Someone referred to one of these knives as 'art' and I feel privileged to hear that, as art has always been of interest to me. I believe our greatest gift to be shared with the world is the expression of the 'art' that's been placed in each of our hearts. I hope you enjoy the knives - especially the recipients - but I hope also that you will embrace and express the art that is yours alone. We're all anxious to see what you'll do!
