Joy Of Creation - Mixed Media Sampler close-up shots! 🎨 How do you approach thread selection? Do you prefer a single style for a cohesive look or mix and match for a playful vibe? I'm a hybrid - sometimes I crave calmness and simplicity, while other times I need a change of pace and love experimenting with different threads and textures. What about you? 🤔 In this sampler I've introduced stitching with gelli print papers on a quilt sandwich using Wonderfil Speciality Threads Eleganza 8 wt in colors (gray, white and black) and Spagetti 12 wt in colors (red and yellow). My FIRST EVER mini quilt. First machine sewn pieced, then machine quited with simple running stitches using normal white thread (40 wt). Then I did hand quilting using my milliner needle size 15. I doubled the thread to make it extra thick.

2nd photo is a close up of my hand quilting on my FIRST EVER mini quilt. You can see how much thicker the 12wt Spagetti thread is compared to my white thread that I machine quilted.
