Something to Meditate On
For some time now, this text Matthew 7:12 AMP So then, in everything treat others the same way you want them to treat you, for this is [the essence of] the Law and the [writings of the] Prophets, has been on my spirit.
And here's what the Lord dropped in my spirit. As you mature in Christ, our adherence to this scripture should mature as well. In this text we see that Jesus is speaking because the lettering is in red. However it's important to take note that he mentions where this thought came from, "this is the essence of the law and the writings of the Prophets."
In knowing my Savior like I do, I believe even then He had an expectation of us maturing to the place of treating others the same way we want GOD to treat us. And I have scripture to back that up just turn back to the previous chapter Matthew 6 and you'll see that this was the expectation and hope of CHRIST for us in these word, Matthew 6:15 AMP "But if you do not forgive others [nurturing your hurt and anger with the result that it interferes with your relationship with God], then your Father will not forgive your trespasses." There are other scriptures that elude to this being case.
With that being said, I want to offer a challenge to you. Try to move being treated others the way you want them to treat you because human emotions are fickle. They're so many people who think they're way of treating people is the the be all to end all and that's not the truth. And when our discernment isn't working properly, we treat people according to mood of our flesh not considering for one moment the law of reaping and sowing - that you will get back what you put out. I can stay here for a while. But the primary thing I pray you take from this is...
When you shift into the mindset of treating others how you want GOD to treat you, it makes you more cognizant of giving love because you want love from GOD. You quickly give forgiveness because you want it from GOD. You treat people with compassion, mercy and patience because you want these things from GOD.
Things are a mess in the church because there is a lack of wisdom and maturity. And there's a lack of wisdom and maturity because the Fear of the Lord has dissipated but that's a whole other message. Today I just felt it strong on my spirit to challenge your mindset and your maturity.
Treat others like you want GOD to treat you and you'll find it easier to deal with unpleasant situations and people because your heart will always be fixed on GOD and HIS character and what you need from HIM daily..
