To allow ourselves to grow as artists, we must put ourselves in our UNcomfortable zone. When we actively pursue the things we are lacking in, that is when we are able to achieve growth.

For me, I greatly struggle with realistic paintings of sunsets and other orange/pink containing imagery. This is due to my color deficiency, however, if I only paint what I am comfortable doing (such as landscapes with lots of greenery) I will never grow as an artist.
