West Virginia indie-rock favorite Ona is taking the stage at 9th Street Live, and the Blenko Glass Mobile Unit will be there with live glassblowing demonstrations all evening.

Employee Spotlight: Wiley Tokarz – Hot Shop Apprentice

Some people collect hobbies, but Wiley Tokarz seems to collect accomplishments.

Wiley joined the Blenkonian family in February of this year, bringing with him a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, a background as an Eagle Scout, and experience on his college's Baja Design Team. If you're keeping score at home, that's a pretty impressive résumé for someone who's just getting started.

Despite all those accolades, Wiley is one of the most humble and easygoing people you'll meet. He's kind, gentle, and always ready for a good chat and a laugh. Since joining the hot shop, he's been soaking up knowledge like a sponge and putting that engineering brain to work as he continues developing his glassmaking skills, starting with carrying in and holding the 384 mould for our ever-important Water Bottle shop .

When he's not at Blenko, there's a good chance you'll find him tinkering with a project, solving a problem, or finding another excuse to build something. It's just how he's wired. We're excited to watch Wiley continue to grow as a craftsman and can't wait to see where his journey takes him. We're so proud to have him as part of the Blenkonian family.

Sugar is one of Blenko's favorite four-legged employees. Along with her sister, Daisy, she keeps a close eye on the grounds, greets visitors on her own terms, and reminds us all to slow down and enjoy the moment.

If you're lucky, you'll spot Sugar soaking up the sunshine during your visit. And if you don't see her, don't worry. She's probably off on an important patrol... or supervising Daisy from a distance.

Join us on Saturday, August 15, from 5–9 PM as we celebrate the Grand Reopening of Blenko's Garden of Glasswith a Midsummer Garden Party!

Originally designed in 1966 by Joel Philip Myers, our Garden of Glass has been newly imagined by Rich Osburn and the team at Organic Lawn Care & Landscaping. Wander through a landscape created with organic and eco-friendly methods and featuring a butterfly garden, a lizard habitat, flowers that harken back to your grandmother's garden, exciting new plantings, and cozy places to sit, relax, and enjoy the beauty of the space.

As you explore, be sure to visit our Artisan Market, where Blenko employees will showcase their talents beyond Blenko. Browse a variety of handcrafted artwork and original creations made by the talented people who help make Blenko special every day.

Enjoy delicious bites, live music, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and an evening celebrating art, community, and this exciting new chapter for Blenko.
