Over the past five years, our events team has joined our colleagues at Rails to Trails Conservancy, journalists, local legislators, and community leaders to explore incredible trails across the country and discuss what it will take to complete the Great American Rail-Trail.
This fall, we traveled from Pittsburgh, PA, to Columbus, OH, where we saw firsthand how incredible trail networks can bring communities together — and how much potential there is to build even more. One missing link? A bridge across the Ohio River that would give cyclists a safer way to cross and connect even more miles of trail.
While these aren’t our home states, this story is a great reminder that building better places to ride benefits everyone. Connecting trails makes it easier for more people to get outside, explore new places, and support local businesses along the way. If you build it, they will come!
