Hey kids. I need your help with something.

Normally I'm pretty good with designing how I want my house to look, and can handle the diy too but right now I just have my hands way too full and I don't even know where to start with picking out tile for my kitchen. We have a white vent hood and I'd like to source some antique fireplace tile for an accent behind the stove, but that's all I know right now. When I say I'm overwhelmed I mean I don't have windowsills in my kitchen, we still have unfinished plaster on a lot of walls, and I can see daylight in places you're not supposed to see daylight in a house so my brain is a little fried 😅🫠 I don't want to be too hating against the old tile and I don't want to lean too 90's either. So what are your thoughts? Do you have a tile or tiler that you love? I'm all ears!

It slices, dices, purees, takes out the garbage, and folds your laundry! Ok so maybe that's Mr Wicker, but this sweet little dealie bop IS a step ladder, ironing board, and chair (staironing chair?) all in one. Cute, strong, and useful! The staironing chair ain't bad either.

Anyway, run on down to the shop before someone scoops this lil cutie. $175 and she's yours. (Sorry, Mr Wicker is already spoken for).

And so 49th St has a new caretaker.

Thursday night we made one last sweep of the place we've called home for the last ten years (the longest I've ever lived in one place!). I made Hugh kiss me one last time in each room, we took the Irish blessing his mom made us as a wedding gift off the wall, and closed the door on that chapter of our life. It's been an emotional couple days.

Special thanks to Christopher Cousineau for being an amazing friend and realtor, and now neighbor. The house sold quicker, and for more than we imagined, and saw so much love from total strangers and we owe it all to him.

Here's to our forever home. I can't wait to share it with you.

Today's the day. Our home is officially on the market.

Ten years worth of love, happiness, entertaining, and literal blood sweat and tears (don't worry, I've cleaned all that up). This is the longest I've ever lived in one place, and by far the biggest emotional investment I've ever made in a physical space.

I hope her next caretaker understands what they're getting - a vibe, a legacy, and an actual piece of my soul.

Just thought u kids might wanna see what's finally luring us away from our current home. No, she's not done, but we're already in love.

Oh, and did I mention Deborah here is adoptable? We wanted to keep her but I don't want to add the stress of adding a third cat on top of moving. It just isn't fair to the two we already have. Lil Debbie is (probably) about a year old, super sweet, loves playing, and can be trained to jump on your shoulder! I'll happily pay for her spay surgery at the WI Humane Society spay and neuter clinic so message me if you're interested!

Hey kids. Maybe you've noticed that I've been a lil absent lately, and that's because Mr Wicker and I have been getting ready to move. So for real this time, we'll be putting our beloved stone Tudor on the market very soon. I know you cool kids like old stuff so I figured I'd let you know first. Here's what you get:

🏡 3br, 1.5 bath, two car garage, partially finished basement, roughly 1600sf
🏡 New appliances in 2025
🏡 Recent repairs and repainting to all storm windows and garage
🏡 Great neighbors all around
🏡 Several window air conditioners, and possibly some furniture
🏡 An established, surprisingly low maintenance perennial garden
🏡 Old school charm and workmanship, including a working natural fireplace, built ins, original 1930's tile in both bathrooms, hardwood floors, Spanish plaster, leaded glass, and a party basement with a bar!

🏡 A little (ok big) piece of my heart

Things it needs:
-exterior trim
-a few fence, especially the back area

Things that might be a little scary but actually aren't:
-has the original furnace. But seriously our bills aren't that bad. And it'll outlive you, me, and everyone we love 😅
-no AC, but like I mentioned we'll include window units for all 16 days of the year that we need AC in Wisconsin lol
-it's an old house but I promise it's not haunted 👻

The only reason we're moving is because we have the opportunity to buy a bigger house in the same area next to a dear friend.
