Follow-up post from yesterday's literally s**tty post.
The cops came, took our statement, and collected as much evidence as they could. The forensics team was lovely but it turns out you can't get a DNA sample from p**p. Shout-out to the young cop that stepped up and actually disposed of it for us 🥹.
Anyway, here's a rundown of what's missing. Lots of security electronics (ironic) and fixtures, plus my friend's very expensive table saw. The thing that especially sucks is that we got a lot of these as major sales, open box, or marketplace deals and that pricing isn't available anymore. I doubt we'll ever see these specific items again but I figured it wouldn't hurt for people to keep an eye out.
Anyway, one thing that gives me peace and hope is the kind of people I have around me. My friend and neighbor taking time out of his day to sit with me until the cops came, another neighbor shutting the garage door for us (it was open for almost 12 hours and nothing else was touched besides what the 💩 burglar took), and all you lovely kids sending me so much love and support. And of course my darling Hughsband, Mr. Wicker, just being his funny, adorable, steadying self. It's just stuff, we've had stuff happen to our stuff before (hello, Kia Boys), and we found a way through and kept going.
So thank you to everyone that offered a kind word, shared the post, stopped by the shop, is keeping us in mind whole they scroll Marketplace, or shared a laugh - yes you can laugh at the guy that shat on my floor - it all means so much. I'm not gonna say we'll look back and laugh, because we already are 💩
