BOUNDARIES AND STANDARDS

We are a business, however we’re not THAT kind of business.
Ranahan reserves the right to kindly part ways if we are not a good fit for you or you are not a good fit for us. We will always stand on our beliefs, values, ethics, design standards, and what we feel is best for our customers, their Association members, and our policies. Many companies will accept every order that is presented to them, we will not. We have turned away multiple requests over the past couple of months based on “dirty money”, design conflicts, values, and faith.
We will stand on our values and we will focus 100% of everything we have on our customers that are a good fit for us.
This sounds insane to some, we’re okay with that. We are selective in who we do business with and how we do business.

Unrelated, peep our most copied buckle design that never turns out this good when folks try to replicate it. You can copy our buckles, but it’ll be like getting a steak from the Dollar Tree. It’s still a steak but it’ll never be as good. Those cheapest companies on the market that accept every order, including designs from other companies, have tried it many times.
*This is a higher end design from our Showtime Division. Prices vary based on quantity. Typical Ranahan pricing does not apply.
*Also, do not send us a buckle from another company and ask us to make it or use it as “inspiration.” Go to that company and have them make it, we have values over here. We don’t steal.

You can still be successful if you have standards and set boundaries. More often than not, you’ll be more successful and you’ll dang sure be more happy doing what you love. Apply this to everything in your life because sometimes you have to clear out the weeds to enjoy the beautiful garden.
Our good customers are our garden, we appreciate you and will always spend the time to assure you get all of the attention that you so rightly deserve, without distraction.
Quality > Quantity

Have a great “ten toes down” day.
Love yall

IMPORTANT NOTICE
POLICY CHANGE / QUALITY STANDARD

Effective immediately regarding any buckle design that is not already in process.

We are not being difficult, we are addressing issues we are seeing on the back side along with feedback from contestants.

We understand the costs associated with producing and wanting to recognize sponsors in a way that makes them feel appreciated.
Being on both sides as contestants and sponsors, we have many suggestions on ways to accomplish that.
Our sponsors are key to the continuation of our lifestyle. We are happy to share those suggestions if you think they will be helpful.
Having said all of that, we are no longer putting sponsor names on the front of buckles, other than certain extenuating circumstances (ie, Title Sponsors, etc, case by case review).
We just feel it takes away from the accomplishment of the winner by making them more of an advertisement than a trophy of recognition for accomplishing a goal.
We were also running into the issue of crowding the buckle while struggling to add sponsors in a way that makes the buckle flow.
Based on feedback from contestants, they feel the same and agree. Our goal as your partner is for your contestants to love their trophy and be proud to show it off, which helps us by getting our buckles out there and brings visibility to your Association. Every winner should feel comfortable showing off their hard earned buckle, that is always our goal. When you partner with Ranahan, the final product is a representation of both you and Ranahan.
While we were struggling with this, we also began receiving feedback stating that some were not wearing buckles due to the sponsorship information. At that time, we decided that was not the best route for our business nor our customers.
We can always add sponsorship information to the back for an additional $5 per buckle. We have discounted this rate to accommodate customers that traditionally added the sponsors to the front. **A better suggestion, which is free, is to place a piece of paper behind the buckle with, “This buckle present by XYZ Company. Please feel free to send a thank you note to…” and include the address. Sponsors LOVE getting mail from contestants. LOVE IT!

This cost to add a sponsor name to the back is the same, or less, than we charged to add them to the front (depending on order size, design, etc.).

We appreciate you but we also understand if we are not a good fit for you and wish you all the best. No hard feelings.

Again, there are certain circumstances where we will work with you to add sponsor names or logo’s. Examples of those times will be title sponsors for an event (all the same sponsor on every buckle, information included in the title of the event), at our discretion when the sponsor is not consuming too much space, the sponsor information is less visible than the accomplishment, and/or the information is not overshadowing the accomplishment, etc. There will be a $10 up-charge per buckle to add this information to the front as the design process will be more time consuming. Again, at our discretion, most times we will respectfully turn the order down.

We appreciate our customers. We also want to assure our business and our customers stand on products that can be depended on. Thank you for your understanding.

Holly

LET’S HAVE A CHAT BECAUSE I’M STRUGGLING OVER HERE.

I get that everyone wants a buckle sponsor. I get that there’s not a lot of money in production.
Having said all of that, there’s a really fine line between adding a sponsor name or logo to a buckle and it remaining a symbol of accomplishment that was earned.
I’m struggling. Sponsors on the front of buckles look like an advertisement instead of an earned trophy. I feel like they are taking something away from the competitor. They are also crowding an already overcrowded buckle. If you look at buckles from “Back when they bucked”, they didn’t have books written on buckles.
Yall, send help! I’m really, really trying but my blood pressure goes up with all of this information on buckles and buckles not meant to be a corporate advertising opportunity. They are meant to be a trophy of accomplishment. Also, I would throw some of the past buckles directly into a drawer just based on some of the sponsor names, and that’s sad.
Respectfully, a buckle isn’t an obituary either. Those get me when thinking of the person winning it with someone’s name they’ve never met proceeded by, “In loving memory of…”
Again, respectfully. Thinking of the winner.

As a business owner, I would much rather you hang my banner (that I provide), put my logo on your flyer, add my logo to your teeshirt or jacket, and/or tag me on social media. These things are going to get more eyes on my business than someone having to stare at someone’s crotch area for extended periods of time to notice all of the over share of information on a trophy. How many people read buckles vs people looking at events and posts on social media? If you’re seeing this, point proven.

Help me understand.

Sincerely, I’m not out to make anyone angry. This is out of passion for the craft and sincere consideration for the winners. My job is to help you get more contestants and I’m really struggling.

Edit to add: Presenting sponsors that drop the price of a used car on your event are exceptions and should be included in your logo for that event. We can help with this.

Again, not being petty, being transparent about something that has been bothering me for a while so please be respectful in the comment section. I am asking for respectful feedback bc I could be wrong and I can admit when I’m wrong. I just need closure 😂

How peculiar are we about your buckles? This is us testing 3 different shades of gold against an authentic gold chain.

WE’LL BE YOUR VOICE.
“The Voice” Buckle

If you read all of our comments you know that a mother once commented on one of our SA posts and stated that her daughter was forced to leave an Association bc she came forward and the predator fan club took the side of the predator. Don’t clutch your pearls, it happens more than you think.
Anyway, I asked the mother to email me. She did. I told her to have her daughter design a buckle and we would make it for her. Unless you’re new here, you know we usually do not accept personal designed buckles bc buckle design if far more complex than most realize. The mother responded and stated that we didn’t have to give her daughter a buckle. I responded something to the effect of, “Ma’am, we don’t ever GIVE buckles to anyone, buckles are EARNED. Your daughter EARNED a buckle. Please send her design.” We then worked with her through a couple of options and this is what it became. I blurred the wording as I do not want to embarrass the child. Note we already have some of these in production so if you see one know there is more than one out there.
Sales from this buckle design will result in a percentage of your order going to a SA victim within our lifestyle (you can change the center emblem and add your custom wording to the top and bottom ribbons). It shows we hear them in a time when it seems like the world has turned a blind eye and blind ear.
Another thing we rarely do is accept personal orders. We’ll accept them on these.
Personal orders (1-2 buckles) $200
Award buckles 3+ $125
Email us to order “The Voice” buckle: [email protected]
We’ll get back with you during normal business hours.

Survivors, we see you and we stand with you. We apologize for the disgustingness of the support and acceptance shown to evil in the flesh within our community. We pray people begin to see and normalize acknowledging your pain by not supporting, accepting, and ignoring that evil.
We love you and we ride with you.

Please like, comment, and share.
If anyone wants to add a “We ride with you” side-pot or has any ideas on how we can bring awareness and show support, we would love to hear from you. This is something we are working on for 2027. We are no longer running with blinders on.
Full send.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE SILENCE THIER VOICE?

When we discovered an incredibly disturbing case involving an arena owner and rodeo/youth rodeo/barrel racing/ranch rodeo sponsor we made a few posts. When we did, the emails from across the country started rolling in. So many that it disturbed my soul. Most with similar stories, different predator names. Let’s dive into the part no one wants to talk about, our part.

When we look past the allegations, we accept them. The predator smiles and goes back to playing in the big sand boxes while the victims are forced to flee and hide. Either we, as a lifestyle, do not believe the victims or we turn a blind eye because of what the predator offers us. They have the buckles, the stock, the connections, the arenas, the money or whatever they need to get away with SA, and it works. Over and over and over we are seeing it. Same story, different arenas.

Why? Why are we looking past someone that SA’ed one of our own and forcing the victim to watch them have fan clubs? Innocence was stripped away but these people are still hosting events and competing where the victim can’t bc we’re not only allowing them to compete, we’re welcoming it.

If a predator and a victim knocked on your door, which one would you take in? The harsh reality of it is, we leave the victim outside and welcome the predator in. Over and over and over at arenas across the country.

How do we think the victim’s feel when we silence their voice and celebrate their predator?
Don’t think it’s not happening near you, that it’s not your problem. It is your problem and it’s happening more than we realize.

Is there a young woman, mother, or child watching us practice, compete, hang out, host clinics, and train with someone that ruined their life? Is the blood of the next victim, second hand, on our hands?

The stories we have been received from SA victims and parents of victims are so incredibly disturbing. We treat the predator like a celebrity and the victim like a criminal.
Frankly, I had blinders on for many, many years. If you haven’t heard about it, it’s not because it’s not happening. If you have heard about it but defended the predator because, “He wouldn’t do something like that”, know you are a puppet in his plan. The same plan from the same predator playbook across the country. Same book, different names.

Can we stop looking the other way now? Do you want your kid in the arena with this guy? He’s not the only one, one of the other’s allegations are too traumatizing and graphic to post. Birds of a feather, same arenas. So you think one is innocent because, “He wouldn’t do that” or “He does so much for the community or the sport”? What about his buddy? Are they both innocent?
Not only are they in multiple arenas, there’s hundreds more just like them across the country.

If you come here and say that this case is old I’m blocking you because you are evil. The victim doesn’t wake up every morning and think that it’s okay because it’s “old.” Is it the only time it’s happened? Do predators tell the next victim to read the room and shut up because they are still welcomed and celebrated within our lifestyle and to look how it turned out for the last person they victimized? Or do they just threaten to unalive them or their families? Same playbook, different names.
We need change.

What will do you to be part of the change? Stop supporting arenas, clinics, associations, rodeo’s etc that look past the predator.
Trust that when it happens again you can queue the Netflix sound because I’m calling every single Association, sanctioning body, clinic, big name, arena, etc that knew the whole time and looked away. There’s a whole paper trail so coming after me or my family isn’t going to do anyone any good at this point. Also, bet I’m packing heavy for every trip, all day every day. You can figure that one out.
