It is hardly an exaggeration to say that every Minnesotan loves fall. And the dog days of summer are where we find ourselves.
While it’s true that the days are shorter, the nights cooler, still the afternoon heat is hanging on, and summer seems reluctant to let go. But the fall blooms are aggressively taking over, with sunflowers at the forefront. And the wild, unruly greens of late summer are edging toward brown, giving way to the new season.
Such a metaphor for the changes we face throughout our lives. The push and pull of when to hang on, when to let go, when to enter a new season.

I find myself embarking on some life changes. And like the changing seasons, they feel somewhat out of my control. I am finding solace in my painting and I’ll share more in the days to come. I like this thought from Steve Jobs-
“For the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: 'If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?' And whenever the answer has been 'No' for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.”
