Potekglass is a kiln formed glass design shop. Owned by Malcom Potek and Kara van Wyk, Potekglass works on commissions for public and private spaces, as well as creating gallery work of their own. Malcom teaches glass classes at their home studio and throughout the US. They sell glass items such as beads, lighting fixtures and tiles. Customization is available upon request.

FREE GLASS Fridays are BACK!

Every Friday from 12-4 PM, get up to 4 hours of torch time for just $22 WITH GLASS INCLUDED!!

Choose from Italian Soft Glass (104 COE) or Boro (33 COE) and spend an afternoon at the torch with our local glassworking community.
A few things to know:

* $22 gets you up to 4 hours of torch time.
* Glass is included, thanks to generous donations from Potekglass patrons.
* Previous torchworking experience is required to participate.

🪾🐦‍🔥🏞️ Check out this cool new commissioned piece that we just completed here at Potekglass. This 46 x 19 inch leaded panel was created to replace an existing window at a private residence. We worked from the ground up to design, color select, and fully fabricate this window based on the space it would occupy and the motif that most resonated with this client. We are thrilled with how the finished work turned out!

Thank you to everyone who came out for the opening reception of the 2026 North Star Glass Exhibition: Painting on Glass!

We were thrilled by the turnout and so glad to see artists, friends, glass professionals, and members of the broader community come together to celebrate the exhibition. It was especially rewarding to see so many people connecting with one another and sharing conversations around the work.

A huge congratulations to Kristopher Tiffany, the 2026 North Star Glass Exhibition: Painting on Glass Best in Show Award recipient, for his incredible work, “Stained Glass Study of William Bouguereau’s Marchande de grenades” (pictured in the final slide). And congratulations to Caedon McCartney and Melissa Janda, our two Merit Award recipients.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make the opening such a success, and we’re excited to keep finding ways to bring people together around glass and the arts.

Haven’t had a chance to see the exhibition yet? The show is open during normal Potekglass business hours through September 20. Come by and spend some time with the work, and don’t forget to vote for your favorite in the People’s Choice Award competition.
