The IRS now allows up to a $1,000 charitable deduction without itemizing.
As a CPA, I look forward to hearing about all the $1,000 donations when I ask at tax time and don't see the receipts or charity in the organizer.
My response will be, "The Human Fund" is apparently still accepting donations. " Wonder if my younger clients will get the reference.
There’s a new tax benefit for charitable giving in 2026. Under the Working Families Tax Cuts, taxpayers who don’t itemize may be able to deduct up to $1,000 in cash contributions to certain qualified organizations, or up to $2,000 for married couples filing jointly. See the new charitable contribution deduction rules and find out what qualifies: https://ow.ly/yGkH50ZyczK
