This is a new-to-us variety of cherry tomato called Nightcap, and it has purple shoulders that sometimes form stars! 🌟 It is also delicious on pizza and in salads! Here in Central Minnesota it has been a very dry summer. Also we have been dealing with subterranean pests causing root damage (voles?), but still the garden has been mostly successful and we have been enjoying the time in our small plot. 🧑🏼‍🌾

Art and Jewelry! We are vending today from 9 till 2 at Dancing Bear Chocolate! The weather is mild for August, and after suffering through the recent heat waves 🥵 we will take the overcast day and enjoy it. 😊

This year we planted a few Calendula plants in the garden, with the goal of harvesting the blossoms and infusing them into an herbal salve. It is well into July and the plants are looking good! 🌼 This was the first of hopefully many harvests, which will be dried and stored until the fall. Also in the salve will be Plantain and Violet, both harvested from the yard. So, what else should we put in the salve?
