There’s something pretty special about the Minnesota State Fair before the crowds arrive.

Early in the morning, the grounds are quiet, the stages are empty, and our piano technicians are already at work getting the pianos ready for another day of performances.

Laursen Piano Service has been tuning pianos at the Minnesota State Fair for more than 50 years. It’s a small behind the scenes part of a big Minnesota tradition, and one we’re very proud to continue!

Our technician, David, took a few photos while making his rounds. It’s not often you get to see the Fair quite like this.

We were proud to be an in-kind sponsor for MacPhail Center for Music’s annual Music Matters fundraiser yesterday. We donated our piano moving and tuning services and our team had the pleasure of attending the event together. The student performances were outstanding and an inspiring reminder of MacPhail’s mission to transform lives and strengthen communities through the power of music.

After the show our amazing piano movers quickly got to work 🎹 💪. (These guys went from dressed-up-attendees to full service piano movers in a flash). Here’s a behind the scenes look.

Big thanks to MacPhail for all they do to bring music into our community. We were honored to play our small part in helping to support it.
