Hello Blueprint Basketball family!!!
Audrey here, some of you don’t know me, I am Wade’s wife ( the behind the scene business partner 😊) I wanted to get on here and do a little reflecting as we close this chapter of our great journey!
7 years ago Wade approached me with this crazy idea, “ I want to start a basketball training business that works with kids learning the basic fundamental skills of basketball.” Not long after, the idea became a reality and Blueprint basketball was born. It started off as lessons at the Y, then eventually moved into the building, “the arena” as Wade liked to call it!
Now I personally don’t have an athletic bone in my body, so I never did anything “basketball wise” at the building. However , I sure did hear a lot of wonderful stories of what happened inside those walls♥️, those are the stories I want to reflect on.
Anyone with a young child nowadays knows youth sports are tough!! There is a whole new level of competition that many of us never experienced growing up. This can be so tough for parents who want to see their child get a chance in the world of sports. There is fierce competition in the Minot area, and many very athletic kiddos in our community. An unfortunate part of that, is the fact that many young boys and girls will never get a chance to let their talents shine, nor have longevity in the sport they love. Blueprint Basketball helped fill that gap!
Wade made two commitments at the very beginning, and he stayed true to them all the way until the end.
1. EVERY CHILD would KNOW they were an important asset to the team regardless of talent. No child would ride the bench! His goal was for every child to know they brought value to the “family.” I was blessed to hear countless stories from parents on how their child’s confidence level improved dramatically not only in basketball, but also in life.
2. No child would ever be denied services because their family couldn’t afford it. Countless scholarships went out to families so their child could enjoy the sport they loved without any added stress.
As we close this chapter, I want Wade to know how proud I am of what he built and the people he touched. You did good!!
Most importantly though, Blueprint would never have existed without all of you! THANK YOU to all the AMAZING families that let Wade and my girls be apart of your child’s life. We will forever be grateful to you all!
Now that the deal has been sealed and the new buyers have moved in a new chapter begins. I’m super excited for a new family to enjoy the building as much as we did ♥️♥️
Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts ♥️
