Remembering the canine heroes of 9/11
Today, we remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the countless heroes who ran toward danger to help others.
Among them were search-and-rescue dogs and their handlers, who worked tirelessly alongside first responders in the days following the attacks. These incredible dogs searched through the rubble, helped locate survivors and remains, and provided comfort to people facing unimaginable loss.
Their handlers were right beside them, guiding, protecting, and caring for their four-legged partners through some of the most difficult days in our nation’s history.
Today, we honor both the canine heroes and the people who stood beside them. Their courage, loyalty, and dedication will never be forgotten. ❤️🤍💙
