Questions I often get asked between these two styles of Lei 🌸🌱
Wili style ~ each flower, and foliage is gently wrapped around a base it can be raffia, tileaf, banana bark to help secure foliage gently in place, similiar to a Leipo’o (head lei) 👑but longer , It takes time and patience in selecting your next flower to avoid bruising or breaking stems also to keep the lei in uniform so it lays nicely on your collar bone and stays in place without moving around ✨💕🌸🌱❤️
Kui style ~ is the use of a needle~ (lei needle and thread, you Pearce through the flower in the center or side to create a lei. Its longer than a wili style lei and lays different on you body. The correct way to wear this style lei is by pulling some of the lei back over your shoulders then a few inches behind your shoulder not just hanging straight down from your neck 💕🌸❤️

Wili style takes more time therefore, more cost due to labor and time.
Water Hydration is a key factor in preparing your flowers before you make lei .
My final step when lei is complete is gently misting the lei with Crown Glory to help seal moisture 💦.
