So this has snuck up on me. 🤦‍♀️

I just realized that a little more than a week to go and Christmas will be here. I’d like to let everyone know that my Etsy shop is back up and running. I have lots of handmade 18” doll clothes for sale. If local I’m willing to bring things downstairs if anyone would like to shop in person. I have marked everything down also. Ok I still have a bunch of Ribbon, Mesh and beautiful florals left that needs to go! Come check them out. I need them gone. 😂. Also lots more of older teen girl clothes were added last night. One more thing I have a nice standard size exterior full glass door that I’d like it to go too. Willing to take offers on it.

Update: new pictures will be posted of all garage sale items tomorrow morning. The garage is over flowing! Over 2 plus tables full of Tools and power tools which just arrived. Wagon full of toys to be put out in the morning. Ran out of room on the inside, so lots of stuff will be spilling out onto the driveway.

Going out of wreath making business

So here are some new pictures of my wreath making inventory that’s going to be for sale at my garage sale September 14th & 15th, and possibly open Saturday by appointment only. That’s if there is any inventory left over. All my wired ribbons and mesh are of high quality and majority of the ribbons and mesh are unopened rolls. I always bought 2 or more when I made a purchase. Also 5 buckets of beautiful florals.

I will also be selling my inventory of American Girl doll clothes. Not going to stop making them but going to take a break for awhile. All the doll clothes except for 3 of them are $15 or less. (Mostly 18” doll clothes, 15” 3 or 4 outfits, 14” 5 out outfits)

My sale will also have other garage sale items. Tools, appliances, books, some clothes, high chair, a booster chair, Nik naks and miscellaneous items.

There will be more items coming in before the sale, but at this time this is my items for sale. Other family members are working on what they will be adding to the sale. So more pictures after completely set up Thursday will be posted.

Going out of Wreath Making Business.

So next Thursday and Friday, September 14 and 15th, I will be part of Mitchellville’s City Wide Garage sales. In my sale I will be selling all my wreath making supplies. High quality wired ribbons, mesh, florals, attachments and bases. I will also be selling the rest of my completed wreaths at a discounted price. So if you are into making wreaths or crafts items, or if you know of someone that would be interested in them, please check them out or pass on the sale info. I need it all gone. I enjoyed making the wreaths and had multiple compliments on them but the selling and shipping cost made it hard to make it worth while.

Just as a note, I will post more complete pictures when I have everything set up. These are just a glimps of what I have.

So since my last post I have been extremely busy making several items for custom orders and for myself (Christmas gifts for the grandkids) Ontop of that I have had a few sales in my Etsy shop. Yeah!

Here are a few things I have been working on.

Two custom wreath orders;

A custom order for some vinyl work for my oldest Granddaughter Maddie and we also added a cute bear to her order. She Nannies for a little 2 year old girl that has a birthday coming up;

Some more vinyl work for the Mitchellville Girl Scouts;

Then I just finished all the bears I need for Christmas.

I have 2 more Christmas gifts to finish for my child neighborhood club members in “The Bubble Club” but of course I can’t say what I’m making because it’s a secret. Lol. After the gifts have been given I’ll post a picture of one of them so everyone can see what I made and gave out. 😉

And then finally I have a few more things I’m going to make for the granddaughters for Christmas but they shouldn’t take long to make. Sort of a simple Christmas from Grandma and Grandpa this year.

So im keeping pretty busy. Just getting ready for Christmas since it’s just around the corner. 🎅

Oh and I can’t forget I also made a doll dress to match a dress a friend bought for her granddaughter for Christmas and I made a Halloween costume for my granddaughters cat Pickles. Lol.

So no sitting around for me lately. 😂 🤣

Sorry, I haven’t posted for a while but I’ve been taking advantage of the time where the weather allowed me to work on the house exterior. Now the weather is cooling down so it’s time to get back to crafting. Again I am no longer making wreaths except for requests. And that’s if I still have the supplies to make what is requested. The most recent request was to duplicate a sold one that my son wanted. I was lucky that I still had the mesh and ribbon on hand. We then found the same sign and they ordered it. The wreath is finished except for the sign.

I do still have 11 wreaths for sale. I have 2 Christmas ones, 1 Thanksgiving, 1 Halloween, 1 Breast Cancer, 1 Valentines, 2 Sunflowers, and 3 Easter ones. I still have them in my Etsy shop but I prefer to sell them local. The last Etsy sale after all the Etsy and Off site Search fees taken out It left me with $15.

So keep this in mind if you make a purchase from Etsy. If you search outside of the Etsy site and your choice takes into someone’s shop, remember the shops name and item and go back in directly to Etsy and pull it up in their site. If you don’t the seller is charged an additional 15% for Outside of Etsy Sale. It’s a new killer being charged I’ve been hit multiple times with this additional charge. total of 30% taken out of each sale. I just might be switching over to Facebook only. But right now I’m not going to change anything because of it being so close to Christmas. And I may just keep my doll clothes in the shop. It’s the wreaths and wreath supplies that are being purchased thru an outside search engine. Anyway enough of that here’s what I’ve been working on the last couple weeks.

Memory Bears. This was an order from my neighbor a few doors down. She suddenly lost her husband this last January and wants to give these Memory bears to her grandchildren for Christmas. They are made out of some of his shirts and pajama bottoms. They turned out so cute.

So I will try harder to post more updates on here of my current crafting projects.

So again sorry for my silence the last few months. But I have kept busy. 😂 .

Update: added one more wreath.

Ok as I mentioned a few months ago, I was thinking about getting out of the wreath making business. Well the decision is made. From this point on I will only be making them for myself as I need them. I have started to sell some of my wreath supplies inventory and have marked down all the wreaths in my Etsy shop.

Now as a reminder if you are local and would like to purchase one please let me know through Facebook. The local price will be less than what they are listed in my shop. The Etsy price includes shipping costs and commission fees that I have to pay. Local purchases and pick up would not need to be charged those extra costs.

Now all the below pictures do have the local prices that I would be asking for, if you would like one of them. They are all boxed up for easy storage for you also. If you would like to see them in person I can open up the boxes so you can see them in person. But they are currently all sealed up for their protection.

The prices here include the costs of the materials mostly. Only a few dollars for my time. I’d just like to get them to a new home. Plus Tim would like the shed back. Lol. Again all materials used are High quality materials. I did not skimp on any of them.

Ok it’s been awhile since I posted. I’ve been struggling on the decision of if I want to stop the wreath business in my shop. I’ve been making them now for almost a year and it just didn’t turn out as I planned. I’ve had sales but not like I was hoping. I have an inventory of 20 plus wreaths that are just sitting in boxes ready to go.

So I’m going to continue making wreaths for personal use and for family and friends but not to the scale I’ve been doing. I’m also going to down size my inventory of materials as I know I won’t be using it like I was this past year.

So I’ve gone out to my Etsy page and reduced all my prices down to their material costs, so if you saw something you liked but couldn’t pay the price just let me know and I can see what I can do from the prices posted in the Etsy shop. Remember they are priced to also cover the Etsy fees and shipping materials. So I may be able to come down even further.

I just don’t have anymore room in storage for these already made wreaths.

Finally, my plans are to go back to just making doll clothes which was my original passion. Play with my collection of American Girl dolls. Lol.

So here are a few more completed wreaths finished this week and added to my Etsy shop. I have another “Amen” sign that I will be using to make another grapevine wreath but I’ll be using spring colored ribbons for the bow. I kept this one more neutral so to work with anyones color scheme in their home.

So on the next “Amen” wreath, what colors do you think I should use? My florals I have pinks, blues, yellows, the white and lavenders. Oh and an orange. What would be the prettiest? Anyone?

The sign is made of wood and vinyl. A small project I asked Tim to do for me. He cut the last of the 1/4 inch boards he had on hand and then he stained it for me. I then added the lettering to finish them off. A team effort on getting Tim Roland back to what he loves to do. It may have been a small project but he’s back in his wood shop tinkering around. Lol

So Valentines Day is over, and 2 of my 3 Valentines wreaths sold. The 1 left needs to be packaged up and put aside to make room for the next holidays.

St Patrick’s Day and Easter. Also I’ve been working on some everyday and spring wreaths. But Easter is taking over the house. Lol. I have wreaths hanging on every door and every hook in the living room and dinning room. Lol.

I have one more Easter to finish but I have to wait for a ribbon order to come in to finish it. Of course of all my ribbon stash, that I already have on hand, just didnt have the right colors to work for this last Easter wreath. I’ll post it after it’s done.

From there I’m going to work on spring and everyday grapevine wreaths. And maybe some fun wreaths like for animal lovers and a specific one I have an attachment for. It’s a camper. I found it last year and have never used it. It’s just sitting in my stash of signs and attachments. Lol

These ideas will be my focus from here on til we get closer to the 4th of July. Then I will have made the full year circle since I started in making wreaths last year. I started with a Bee wreath for myself and a 4th of July wreath for sale which is still in my inventory. Maybe this year it’ll sell. I have learned a lot through this last year. What and where to buy my supplies, what style and what sells. There are a few in my inventory I’m sure I’ll be pulling out and redoing them just because the ribbons and mesh were not the quality that I’m using now. Lesson learned.

So that last few weeks I’ve been working on more Easter wreaths and trying my hand at Grapevine wreaths. These 2 grapevines are everyday wreaths. They can be used all year around. I love working with the florals. It adds such a beautiful touch and finishes off the wreath. Now to just find the right person that is in the market for one. Lol

So in trying to boost my Etsy shop and page, I’ve been attending online classes on how to bring in more people that are looking to buy. They say I need to find my Niche. What is my Niche? They suggest that I stay away from the obvious “Wreath Maker” or such. The way technology works on promoting is it takes a few Tagged words and sends my stuff to those searching for those tags but Facebook looks at the picture in whole. So my posts here on Facebook could be just going to others that make wreaths. Not to one’s that are looking to purchase one. Example: of 100 people Following me only a very small percentage, let’s say 10, are actually being shown my posts on this page. And of those 10, they could be just wreath makers like me. They are not looking to buy.

So maybe someone could help me with finding my Niche. I’m stumped. I’ve tried everything and it doesn’t seem to be bringing in any potential buyers. I know people are buying from others but they don’t seem to be finding me. Got to figure this out.

Oh and im not talk about local, im looking for ones across the country. I can’t rely on family and friends buying, that’s not going to help me grow.

I’m to try tagging in a few people I know have had a business or are in business currently. Maybe they can help.
