It made it from Moab to northern Nebraska in cold of winter towing four hundred pounds of tools and gear without a single mechanical or even a flat tire. Found the frame and seat post at the city dump under a pile of bicycles the local community thrift store could not sell. You could drop this thing out of an airplane and it would survive the fall. The first bonded aluminum mountain bike. Lugs are sand cast.

We still have a few POEs in the shop. Only a couple of frames left, but there are four POE bikes built up and ready to ride. This is an especially fantastic gravel bike, if you are wondering. Want to whip your friends who are riding drop bar gravel rigs? The POE 29er was built with gravel in mind, plus it can handle trails that a gravel bike would be sketchy on. The 650B version is a bit more attuned to trail riding and allows for very wide tires.

Remaining POE frames in stock and not built up already are up for grabs for $600 a piece. Fox forks and headsets are $400 with frame (until they are gone). If not sold before Christmas the frames will be painted in wild freeform colors and offered for sale as art.

I was riding my Dreamride POE up the Old Moab Highway this morning to the trail pictured at the top of this page and was amazed at how efficient it was on the road. The picture was taken 5 years ago when I first began riding the original POE prototype, the very same POE I have been riding all that time, the bike I rode this morning. I was 63 years old in the picture. The POE is the same, light, quick and agile bicycle, and still in one piece after a couple thousand miles of Moab use and abuse, I might add. The only change made has been larger brake rotors. I am now 68 years old and 15 pounds lighter. And that is why I'm going much faster on the uphill. The POE feels stiffer because of my smaller body mass and because I am lighter it feels more like a steel bike, a very, very light steel bike. I continue to appreciate the short wheelbase and stiff frame.

I want to encourage anyone who wants to loose weight to feel better on the bike to eliminate refined sugar from the diet. No amount of exercise would take the pounds off of my ass, but simply avoiding this one thing worked. All other sugars are fine, but eliminate REFINED SUGARS from your food and you will be happy with the results.
