How do you tell that summer is coming to an end? With us, it's the plants. Pumpkins begin to turn orange, the beans are finishing up, carrots need picking - and they are so sweet when pulled from the ground. It's why we don't have a hoop house. We'd miss the magical parts of summer.

It's also when the apples ripen. Bruce carefully cuts them open looking for black seeds which tell him the apples are ready to pick. And they are almost there. Happy fall.

Happy Birthday, Bruce Beaudoin. I won't say how old he is, but the Wood'n Spoon is 28 this year. And Jenna Beaudoin, our youngest made him a sign to celebrate. ❤️💙

Berry season has started. 😊 We've been picking honeyberries. These are similar in flavor to a tart blueberry. Bruce makes a great jam from them.

Spring is a beautiful time in the Keweenaw. So many fruit trees are in bloom starting with sugarplum (serviceberry). We did a hike on our farm. Bruce is enjoying all of the wild apple trees in bloom, and the flowering crabapple outside our kitchen window.

Hi all, we are open for the summer. And Bruce is busy baking today. We look forward to visiting with everyone when you stop by.

It's a rainy Monday and we're getting ready to open for the season on Friday, May 22.

Our hours are different this year. We will be open Tuesday - Saturday, and closed on Sunday and Monday.

Friday will be our first pie day of the season and it will be Tart Cherry

We're excited to open and see everyone.

And Canyon Falls is flowing great! It's a short hike and well worth it, just off of US-41.

Thanks for capturing our Keweenaw business and our love of baking and jam making. We can't wait for the snow to melt and to see folks this summer.

The shelves are packed with handmade jams, local honey, baked goods, and small finds that feel anything but ordinary.
