Today’s order: one old-fashioned Lemon Meringue Pie with a homemade flaky crust, bright lemon filling and a great big cloud of soft, golden meringue piled high on top. 💛

Did I get a little carried away with the meringue? Perhaps.

Do I regret it? Absolutely not. 😂

Sourdough myth #1: (yep its a series LOL)
"well my starter is good, its 200 years old"

Truth: A “200-year-old sourdough starter” is really a starter with a claimed 200-year lineage. It may have originated 200 years ago—maybe—but the starter in the jar today is not physically 200 years old. The original flour, water, yeast, and bacteria have been consumed and replaced through countless feedings. What continues is the feeding tradition and microbial descendants, not the original starter itself. It’s like a family tree: the lineage may be 200 years old, but the person standing in front of you isn’t. And that lineage has nothing to do with quality. How you maintain it and how you develop your sourdough skills is what is going to determine how well you do.

I sat down to add “just a few.”

Twenty-seven new shirts later…THE FALL DROP IS LIVE. 😳🍂

We’ve got fall, football, school spirit, Christian designs and Halloween—with tees, long sleeves, crewnecks and hoodies mixed in.

Obviously, dumping all 27 into one post would be the online equivalent of knocking over an entire shirt rack and yelling, “LOOK AT EVERYTHING!” So I’ll be spotlighting them in smaller groups over the next several days.

But if patience isn’t one of your spiritual gifts, you can shop the entire drop right now. 😂

We have a spot open for the sourdough class in a couple of weeks.

Let me ahow you how to bake delicious sourdough bread at home using simple equipment.

This is a very hands on class where I will have starter at all different stages. We will also have dough at different stages. You will mix, shape and score your own loaves.

I will show you how to bake with the double loaf pan method with a brief lesson on using Dutch ovens as well.

This will be an informal setting with lots of great conversation and laughs. Snacks provided.

You will be taking home a loaf of sourdough and a jar of active starter ($20 value) as well as an instruction and recipe packet.

Equipment kit available at a nominal fee. Please request kit at sign up.
