I shared this about a year ago and I’m going to go ahead and share again. 🫶🏻 As we go into the holiday season, I just want to remind you of the importance of shopping small.
Maude’s may or may not be for everyone and that is perfectly ok. I truly try my very best to have a variety of options when it comes to price points. I’m not sure how many of you are aware of the many obstacles that small business owners face. It literally feels like one punch after another — ESPECIALLY after this summer. Between the cost of goods, taxes, (tornadoes) and just our economy in general, it’s stinkin’ HARD.
I want to remind you that when you support a small business, you aren’t just supporting a family. You are safeguarding the character of a town. You are choosing connection over algorithms, craftsmanship over convenience and memories over mass production. You are choosing to help keep the lights on in a special little place that feels like home.
If Maude’s has ever been a part of your story (even in the smallest way), now is the moment when your story carries weight. Every visit, every purchase, every share shapes what’s still standing on this precious little corner.
I know that a small shop does not survive on sales alone. It survives on people and connection. On the people who walk through the door, return year after year, and who carry a little piece of this place home with them.
“Support Small” is no longer a festive tagline. It has become a quiet plea, echoing through downtowns nationwide. A plea to keep the places that give our communities texture, warmth, and identity from slipping away.
Speaking of communities - I love mine so incredibly much and it’s what makes Maude’s so different from big box stores. Your local businesses are often times the major contributors to fundraisers, sports assemblies, auctions, and so many other local causes. We give back to our communities because we want to see them thrive. I promise to continue giving back and I will always do it with purpose and intention.
So, this holiday season, I implore YOU to shop with purpose and intention. 🫶🏻 It matters. It truly does.
