** just wanted to update this post with our TNR numbers from last year***we successfully TNRd 262 community cats*. We are hoping to surpass that number this year!!***
With the warm weather and spring also come kittens, lots of kittens. Part of our goal is to prevent these unwanted litters from happening. How do we do this you ask?? With a few very dedicated volunteers that spend hours of their own time, gas, and supplies trapping at various locations throughout Monroe county. Trap, neuter, and release is such an important part of helping to control the cat population. But this cost money, currently Humane Ohio is 45$ for community cats. This includes spay/neuter, ear tip, rabies, an FVRCP vaccine, and a topical 3 month flea and tick preventative (these things alone would cost over 4-500$ at your regular vets office). We need to raise money to continue our mission to fix as many community cats as possible! We do not get government or state funding to cover these procedures. We rely on our amazing volunteers and supporters to help make this happen. We also need more traps! Many have gone MIA when we loan them out, so we need to add to the current ones we have.
Also interested in transporting or trapping please let us know. It’s hard work and time consuming, but so rewarding.

I will add a picture of the traps that we use in case somebody is interested in donating some.. we specifically like the double door traps that make it safer to transfer Cats in and out of the traps and to feed them while we are holding them for surgery.
